Stay on Track

“Even though you are on the right track – you will get run over if you just sit there.”

Will Rogers

Time is moving along at a rapid pace. We just published our February issue. It is no longer the beginning of the year. Take a moment and remember all the hopes and dreams you had planned for yourself this year. If you haven’t started, get out your list and take action now!

Over the holiday, my family and I visited my homeland of South Africa. It was wonderful to see family and friends. The actual flight time is over 21 hours but much longer with all the stops and layovers. You may ask, “Is it worth it?” You bet it is. I’ve found that most things worthwhile in life take time to plan and prepare for.

Getting away really helps to clear the mind and bring perspective to all the things going on in your head. You get time to reorganize your priorities and let go of some issues because you realize they are not worth the stress.

My goals are primarily on the same track as last year. Stay safe, keep healthy, maintain family harmony, and continue growth and success in business. Part of my To-Do List to achieve these goals includes home improvement. Since the pandemic, we are all at home more. Like many of you, we are noticing where we can improve our homelife and live smarter.

Last year there was a barrage of help from professional organizers and minimalists in print, online and television. They motivated us to get organized with “our stuff.” However, when it comes to home design and remodeling, we hire pros to get things done. I am fortunate, as the owner of a home improvement publication, to know many expert home improvement professionals. Many I have known for more than 10 years and they do awesome work.

Improving my living space will help keep me on track to accomplish all my goals this year. What will you do to facilitate your goals? Make a plan that includes checkpoints to help you stay on track. Don’t look back. Move ahead and accomplish the things on your list. It takes time and never happens overnight. One by one as things get done, you will reach your goals. Now get going!

Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Ralph
