New Goals for New Beginnings

“Setting goals is the first step to turning the invisible into the visible.”

Tony Robbins

It’s 2022. January is upon us. The beginning of a new year with new resolutions and goals.

This time of year, I like to reflect on the past year’s goals I made and which ones I attained. I review what I achieved and set new goals for the upcoming year.

What goals will you set for 2022? Setting goals gives you purpose and something to aim for. Goals provide you with something to look forward to each day. Otherwise, life is what is happening to you, instead of what’s happening for you.

“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.” – Bill Copeland

Dream big. Set lofty goals. It will get you out of your comfort zone. When you’ve decided on what your goals will be, be sure to give yourself a timeline. Schedule a time at the same time every day or every week to review and analyze where you are in achieving your goals. Make goal checking part of your routine to help keep you on track.

This year my goals are focused on my health, my family, and my business. The COVID-19 pandemic made us all realize how important our health is. It made us pause to appreciate all that we have and savor each day. Even though we were physically separated, the circumstances brought many of us closer in other ways as we came together to help and support one another. I know I now take my health, and the health and safety of my loved ones more serious than ever. I recognize my blessings and try to appreciate every moment of every experience even more!

It’s never too late to change your life. No matter what your age, you can have dreams. Nelson Mandela was 75 years old when he became president of South Africa. To aim high and fall short, it is better than aiming low and accomplishing nothing.

We all have reasons or excuses as to why our lives are not where we would like them to be. But until we take 100% responsibility for our successes and failures, we will never be content. We cannot always control our lives, but we can control how we think, feel, and react. Bad stuff happens to all of us. It’s part of life. Recognize it, accept it, let go of the fear, step out, and make a change.

Get ready. Set your goals. Stay focused on what matters most.

Let’s say goodbye to 2022. I wish you a Happy New Year!
