Face Your Biggest Fear

by | January 2021 | Words of Wisdom

“The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

Nelson Mandela

Another year is over and a new one begins. This is the time of year when I like to reflect on the goals I set and accomplished. I review what I achieved and set new goals for the upcoming year.

Some goals seemed so important at the beginning of 2020, but as the months unfolded my priorities changed. Suddenly, buying that new car seemed less important than being healthy. My goals were focused on my health, my family, and my business. It pushed me to get up every day at 5:30am to meet my trainer at the gym. I took steps to ensure the safety of my family, friends, and employees. I recognized my blessings and learned to appreciate every moment of every experience even more!

My challenge for 2021 is to solve my biggest problems. The bigger the problem solved the greater my success. I know I have been avoiding taking them on because I know the pain and fear involved. However, I also know it will give me the greatest satisfaction and change in my life.

We all have reasons or excuses as to why our lives are not where we would like them to be. But until we take 100% responsibility for our successes and failures, we will never be content. We cannot always control our lives, but we can control our experience of life, and how we think, feel, and act. Bad stuff happens to all of us. It’s part of life. Recognize it, accept it, let go of the fear, step out, and make a change. Accept that every situation and its outcome, can depend on how you handle it. The road you travel is your choice and it’s your doing.

British billionaire, Sir Richard Branson, has explained why he started Virgin Airlines. He began by wanting to charter a plane to get to a destination. Through his frustrating traveling experiences, he decided he could provide a better service and create his own airline. Why? Because he felt he was prepared to solve the bigger problems. He started Virgin Airlines and succeeded despite going up against British Airways.

Everything you ever wanted can be found on the other side of fear. Stop running from your fears. It will only make you unhappy and stop you from achieving your true potential. By taking on your biggest problems in 2021, you can achieve any goal.

My wish for you all is that you face your biggest fear and conquer it! It’s now or never! Do It Now.

Happy New Year! Say “So Long 2020.”

Stay Safe and Healthy!
