Conquer Your Biggest Challenges

by | January 2020 | Words of Wisdom

“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”

Buddha

A new year brings new resolutions. Take stock in what you accomplished in 2019 and set new goals for 2020. What do you want to get done? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to see? How much do you want to make? What do you need to do to get there? Create a plan and timeline to achieve your goals.

“Nothing tastes as sweet as victory feels.” I sure do love that feeling of winning after I’ve put everything on the line to reach for my dreams.

Last year my goals were related to my health, my business, and my family. I crossed off many of them that included more quality family time, improving my healthy lifestyle, visiting particular destinations and writing a book. In August I had a health scare that made me rethink my priorities. I am truly blessed and now see everything I have achieved as a gift. I have learned to appreciate every moment of every experience!

My wish for all of you this year is that you achieve everything you set your mind to this year! If you happen to be a person who finds it hard to stick to goals and New Year’s resolutions, try to make a single stand. Take on your biggest challenge. Stop running from your fears, as they will only make you unhappy and stop you from achieving your true potential. Nelson Mandela stated, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

We all have reasons or excuses as to why our lives are not where we would like them to be. But until we take 100% responsibility for our successes and failures, we will never be content. We cannot always control our lives, but we can control our outlook on life — how we think, feel, and act. Bad stuff happens to all of us. It’s part of life. Recognize this fact; accept it; let go of fear; step out and make a change. Accept that every situation and its outcome depends on how you handle it. The road you travel is your choice, and responsibility.

My challenge for 2020 is to solve my biggest problems. The bigger the problem solved, the greater my success. I know I have been avoiding taking them on because I know the pain and fear involved. But I also know it will give me the greatest satisfaction and change in my life.

British billionaire, Sir Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines because of his personal experience with chartering a plane. Through his frustrating experience, he decided he could provide a better service and decided to start an airline. Why? Because he felt he was prepared to solve the bigger problems. He started Virgin Airlines and tackled British Airways head on.

Everything you ever wanted, including your success, is found on the other side of fear. You can achieve any goal by taking on your biggest problems in 2020. Go face your biggest fear and conquer it!

There’s no better moment to get started achieving the life you want … Go Big in 2020!

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.”

Mark Twain

“Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.”

Salvador Dali
